75 years on the job - a Ford AA Truck Today afternoon we came across another legend. It stood there in the middle of the busy and noise inner city traffic of Montevideo and simply did it's job. As it did for the last 75 years: A Ford AA Truck.
The driver Carlos allowed us to take pictures and seemed to be used to the admiration we gave his vehicle. The Ford truck has been in the family for at least three generation, Carlos told us and I could sense a little pride in his voice as he spoke about the van. His grandfather already used it as a daily work machine.

 The Volvo PV 4444
The Swedish car-maker VOLVO had a reputation of producing solid and reliable cars from it's foundation in 1927. But this reputation became a legend in 1944 when the famous PV444 saw the light of day.
In the dawn of World War II planners of the Swedish car manufacturer figured that the future of VOLVO would be secured if they could introduce a reliable and foremost economical and affordable car. The answer was given with the PV 444 which was later nick named "hatchback" or "buckelvolvo" due to it's characteristic outline.
